TPO Reserve is one of the largest Russian architectural bureaus, which had started its activity in 1987, when the private enterprise had just begun its formation in the USSR. Inheriting in many respects the organizational principles of Soviet design institutes TPO Reserve takes the position of author architecture, developing its own expressive language. This catalog covers the period of the company’s activity, marked by creative leadership of the architect Vladimir Plotkin. The selection of the projects and commentary edition were carried out by the TPO Reserve architect and architectural critic Maria Ilyevskaya. The presented works reflect most clearly the bureau’s artistic method and the overall development of architectural demand in Russia over the past twenty years. In the introductory article, this body of work is reviewed by the editor in the context of the world architecture evolution in the second half of the 20th century and the postmodern conception.
