The new museum situated on a high bank of the river Kama. By this position it defines the vector of development of the new city centre along the river, forms the “river façade” of the city and turns the plot that is limited by the transverse axis of the car bridge and the park into a modern centre of the modern district of Perm.
The minimum construction area creates the maximum transparency of the façade without blocking the access to the river. The principle of the vertical zoning when the main exhibition space is situated high above the ground give the impression of overcoming the laws of gravity as this vertical layout gives a possibility of placing large open pedestrian zone, a park, and a museum court underneath the construction. The expressive volume of the building that stands on two diagonally positioned inclined “feet-supports” maintains its dynamic impression and transparency from all perception points.
